Announcement: Call for Nominations – 2025 UNESCO-Uzbekistan Beruniy Prize for Scientific Research on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence
Pakistan National Commission for UNESCO (PNCU) is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the inaugural UNESCO-Uzbekistan Beruniy Prize for Scientific Research on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence. About the Prize: Established in partnership with the Government of Uzbekistan, the Prize honors outstanding contributions to the ethical understanding and responsible development of artificial intelligence (AI). Named after the renowned scholar Abu Rayhon Al-Beruniy, the Prize aims to foster international scientific cooperation and promote ethical AI practices.?UNESCO Award Details: Three laureates will be selected. Each laureate will receive: A Beruniy Medal A certificate A monetary award of USD 30,000 Nomination Procedure: Prospective nominees must prepare a comprehensive nomination dossier in English or French, including: A detailed description of the nominee's background and achievements A summary of the nominee's work related to the ethics of artificial intelligence, including publications and other significant contributions An explanation of how the nominee's work aligns with the objectives of the Prize? The nomination dossier should be submitted to the Pakistan National Commission for UNESCO (PNCU) for endorsement.? Submission Deadline: Nominations must be submitted to PNCU no later than 13 June 2025. PNCU will review and endorse nominations before forwarding them to UNESCO by the final deadline of 30 June 2025.
