PNCU and Kurram Welfare Home Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Promote UNESCO-Aligned Heritage and Community Development Initiatives
The Pakistan National Commission for UNESCO (PNCU), Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, and Kurram Welfare Home (KWH) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at a ceremony held in the Committee Room of PNCU, Islamabad. The MoU establishes a framework for institutional cooperation in the fields of cultural and natural heritage, education, youth engagement, research, and community-based initiatives in line with UNESCO's mandate, national priorities, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The collaboration will focus on heritage documentation and safeguarding, capacity building, community participation, youth engagement, and the development of UNESCO-aligned programmes and projects through mutually agreed initiatives. Speaking on the occasion, representatives of both organizations reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening partnerships for the promotion of culture, education, heritage conservation, and sustainable development in Pakistan. The MoU provides a non-exclusive framework for cooperation, with specific activities to be implemented through separate mutually agreed work plans and project arrangements in accordance with applicable laws and UNESCO procedures
