UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa-Al-Khalifa Prize for the Use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Education: The prize was established in 2005 with financial support from the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Prize rewards projects that use innovative technologies to enhance teaching, learning and overall education performance. Prizes may be conferred upon individuals’ institutions, other entities or non-governmental organizations. The two prize-winners shall be selected by the Director-General of UNESCO on the basis of the assessments and recommendations made to her by a jury. Each will receive a diploma and a monetary award of US$25,000.This prize announce in November to January each year.

 

The UNESCO Prize for Girls' and Women's Education: UNESCO Executive Board created this Prize in 2015, with the financial support of the People’s Republic of China. The Prize contributes to two Sustainable Development Goals: "Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for ail" (Goal 4) and "Achieve gender equality and empower ail women and girls" (Goal 5). The UNESCO Prize for Girls' and Women's Education is to rewards the outstanding efforts of individuals, institutions, governments , non-governmental organizations and other entities advancing girls' and women's education. Each Government may present up to three nominees. UNESCO encourages Member States to implement a national selection process and to publicly announce their selected nominees. Each of the two laureates will receive an award of US $50,000. The eligibility criteria as set by organizer is that, the two Prize laureates will be selected by UNESCO's Director-General on the basis of recommendations made by the independent International Jury of the UNESCO Prize for Girls' and Women's Education, consisting of five experts from all geographical regions. The nominations only considered for mentioned project/Programme. UNESCO-Hamdan Prize for Teacher Development: The Prize Funded by the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance of the United Arab Emirates, the Prize was created in 2008 to promote and recognize pedagogical innovations that enhance the performance and effectiveness of teachers for quality education for all. The Prize aims to improve teaching practices worldwide, especially in developing countries and marginalized and disadvantaged communities; it rewards candidates that have made an outstanding contribution to enhancing the quality of teaching and learning. The Prize may be conferred upon institutions or organizations; international or national governmental or non-governmental organizations; educational or research institutions. Each Member State may present up to five candidates nominated for the Prize. UNESCO encourages Member States to implement a national selection process and to publicly announce their selected nominees. The three laureates will receive an award of US $100, 000 each to further develop and disseminate their outstanding practices related to teacher development. The prize-winners shall be selected by the Director-General of UNESCO on the basis of the assessments and recommendations made to him/her by a jury. UNESCO International Literacy Prizes: Initially established in 1967, these Prizes are currently composed of the two (2) UNESCO King Sejong Literacy Prizes, sponsored by the Republic of Korea, and the three (3) UNESCO Confucius Prizes for Literacy, sponsored by the People’s Republic of China. The theme, as well as the thematic vision of each Prize, which is "mother language-based literacy development" for the UNESCO King Sejong Literacy Prize, and "the promotion of literacy, including functional literacy, leveraging technological environments, in support of adults in rural areas and out-of-school youth" for the UNESCO Confucius Prize for Literacy. Each year, they are awarded to individuals, governments, and non-governmental organizations in recognition of their distinguished contribution to the promotion of literacy, and their non-relenting efforts in this regard.
